2021 年にカイロのフスタットに、150 以上の工房を擁する現代の職人陶芸拠点がオープンしました。職人はナイル川の粘土を粉砕し、水を加え、手またはろくろで成形し、天日で乾燥させ、窯で焼きます。二度目の焼成の前に釉薬を塗る場合もあります。ファラオの時代にまで遡る古代エジプトの陶器作りの伝統を継承しています。製品は観光客に販売され、本物のエジプトの工芸品として輸出されました。
